SO2 pollution in the north in Dalvik and Sauðárkrókur

SO2 pollution has been measured over 2500 µg/m³ in Dalvik and around 1000 µg/m³ in Sauðárkrókur today in the north of the country . People are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, close windows and turn off ventilation. High values of SO2 have been measured in North and Northwest Iceland this morning. Akureyri has seen over 4000µg/m³, Stykkisholmur 2700µg/m³ and Saudarkrokur over 5000 µg/m³.
