The photos below show the rift valley, graben, in Holuhraun. The two volcanic fissures in Holuhraun are located in the rift, which stretches from underneath Dyngjujökull. The rift is above the dyke that started to thrust from the Bárðarbunga caldera on 16. August 2014.
Scientists and civil protection representatives flew over the eruption site in Holuhraun and Dyngjujökull today. Three cauldrons were detected in Dyngjujökull.
